Hi, I’m Mary
I’m a Certified Professional Recovery Coach (IAPRC), Trauma-Informed Yoga & Meditation Teacher and the Founder of Sun & Moon Sober Living.
I’ve been sober since April 27, 2013, and while sobriety has undoubtedly been the best decision I’ve made for myself, my road to recovery was anything but linear.
Prior to getting sober, my battle with alcohol and drug addiction was fairly well-masked to the outside world. I had just been promoted at one of the top advertising agencies in Chicago and was surrounded by friends and a wonderful family. Yet my inner experience told an entirely different story. I was hiding my alcohol and drug use, riddled with anxiety and overwhelming shame, and felt like I was constantly on the edge of disaster.
Since getting sober, I’ve had the opportunity to travel the globe leading trainings, workshops & retreats which have been featured by Yoga Journal, Compare Retreats, and Women’s Health Aus, and have trained with world-renowned teachers who bridge ancient Eastern traditions with modern psychology and neuroscience.
Among all of the tools I’ve explored, practiced and taught others, the power of community never ceases to amaze me. That’s why I’ve created this space where we can learn, grow and evolve into the best versions of ourselves together.
Ask yourself this…
- Have you experienced negative outcomes because of drinking (now or in the past) yet struggled to give it up?
- Are you unwilling to spend the rest of your life obsessing over alcohol?
- Are you committed to building sustainable coping skills?
- Do you have a desire to build meaningful relationships with those who want to see you grow and evolve into the best version of yourself?
- Are you done seeking quick-fix solutions at the expense of your long-term happiness?
- Are you willing to get honest with yourself about the true impact alcohol and other substances has on you beyond what society has taught us to believe?
- Do you feel ready to make a change and eager to learn, practice and explore what the practice of Holistic Sober Living can offer you?
If any of the questions above were a “yes” for you, then we are your people and this is community membership will feel like home.

Success Stories
"Mary is such a wealth of information and insight and has been such a huge motivator and supporter of me on my sober journey. The meetings she facilitated have all filled me up and left me feeling empowered and confident in my ability to live and thrive in sobriety."
This was a safe and supportive place to begin exploring sobriety and how to refocus life priorities. Thank you.
The “difference” is that with Mary you get the chance to be supported by a person who’s entire being is focused towards living a sober life and understanding why you used and how it affected your body your nervous system and more. She understands the whole process of using, relapsing and getting sober so well that you accept your state and become willing to make a change and she is there to walk you through it.
